FutureNet

FutureNet is the window to success for non-traditional teen learners. FutureNet students receive hands on technology and soft skills training while working towards gaining meaningful employment. Students also prepare for the GED using a personalized on-line training program in JFS’ own computer lab. Designed to meet the needs of youth who have had trouble finding success in traditional classrooms, FutureNet will meet students where they stand academically, develop curriculums that complement the students’ personal goals and learning pace and help guide the teens to a brighter tomorrow. FutureNet will help students achieve goals while building meaningful relationships with staff that truly cares about the individuals they serve.

FutureNet is open to all teens and particularly those who dropped out of high school or were adjudicated in the Juvenile Justice System.

Now is the time to get back on track towards a successful and fulfilling future!

FutureNet includes:

  • On-line GED preparation
    • Students prepare for the GED through a licensed internet GED preparation program. The program assesses the students’ limitations in all 5 learning areas to create a curriculum that matches the students’ needs. Students sit in an on-line “virtual classroom,” complete with an instructor and four students each representing a different learning style. The students move through lessons at their own pace and are periodically assessed until they reach scores that indicate they are ready to pass the GED.
