Mitzvah Projects

It can be a daunting task to improve the world – but JFS is the place to start.

Jewish Family Services of Delaware is the go-to resource for young people as they seek to identify how they want to make a difference in their community.

JFS works with youth to design a service project that is a thumbprint of their personality.  By supporting a cause that resonates with them, students deepen the meaning of their service and make a lasting connection to their community and the values of service and giving.

What is a Mitzvah Project?

A mitzvah is a good deed. It is an act of service, kindness, or charity that makes the world a better place.
JFS helps Jewish youth express the values of tikkun olam and tzedakah in ways that are meaningful to them.  What is more, student participants will become ambassadors of this Jewish community.  Their acts of kindness, service, and giving will represent the spirit of Judaism throughout Delaware.
