Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over thirty years of experience that began as a Supervisor for the State Division of Child Protective Services. She has worked in group practice where she received education in the use of psychiatric medication. In solo practice, her motto for helping her clients is “this is not the dress rehearsal for the next life”, emphasizing the need to make the most of the moment in using therapy to develop their strengths. She has specialized in trauma and disability issues and during the time she directed the Department of Social Services at St. Francis Hospital, developed a specialty in medical social work and geriatric issues.
