Does Jewish Family Services only provide services to Jewish clients?

NO, we serve EVERYONE! While we are inspired by the Jewish values of our founders, our services are available to all, without regard to religion, race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, or special need.

Does JFS accept insurance?

YES, JFS Delaware accepts most commercial insurance policies, including Medicaid & Medicare, and will also honor an EAP. 

Every insurance plan is different – we can verify coverage and share that information with you (the client) so you understand what your financial responsibility may be. If there are financial circumstances which impact your ability to pay for the service you are receiving, please call 302-478-9411 to speak with our Billing Department about a payment plan or other options. JFS offers sliding scale fees for those without insurance.

How does JFS Delaware protect my personal and health information?

At Jewish Family Services of Delaware (JFS), protecting your privacy and confidentiality is very important to us. We do not share that you have used our services, the nature of your relationship with us, or any of your Protected Health Information (PHI) with anyone outside our agency without your written consent, except when the law allows or requires it.

How will JFS Delaware communicate with me, and what are my options?

While not required by law, JFS policy is to obtain written permission for sending you JFS-related communications by text or email. Your choice to opt in to text and email messages from us—and your consent to receive those messages—will not be shared with any third parties.

  • JFS may contact you by email or text message to invite you to complete a survey related to your satisfaction and/or care at JFS. Participation is completely up to you.

 

Fundraising Communications

for Clients of Counseling and Support Services

  • We may contact you occasionally to support our programs and services through fundraising efforts.
  • If you receive a fundraising message from us, it will include a simple way for you to opt out of future fundraising communications. You can opt out at any time.

Opting out of any of these communications will not affect your care, payment, or access to services.

May I see a counselor or staff person, remotely?

YES, after 120 years of in-person care – in our offices, clients’ homes, schools and community spaces – JFS Delaware has made the transition to provide our counseling and case management services remotely as well. Individualizing treatment approach is an important part of the therapeutic process – one which JFS therapists and case managers have always prioritized – and telehealth is perfectly suited to adapt to each person’s unique needs. How can I reach the JFS staff?  

If your inquiry is urgent, please call the JFS receptionist at 302-478-9411 so we may respond as soon as possible. Otherwise, please complete this form so we may reach out. You will hear from a JFS staff member within 2-3 business days.
