On October 19, JFS’s Brandywine Village Network volunteers were awarded the 2016 Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Award recognizing an exceptional volunteer group.

Last year, 183 volunteers provided 3,116 hours of assistance to help 112 older adults age in place.  This service included 2,226 one way rides totaling 12,525 miles.

“We’re so glad we have your help,” one BVN member said about the volunteers.  “We don’t feel isolated because of you.  You all are wonderful. You have been a blessing.”
