Barb is a Master’s Level Therapist in the JFS Mental Health Fellowship Program. She completed her Master’s of Social Work degree at Bryn Mawr College, and is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
Barb previously worked at the Coatesville VA Medical Center as a Substance Use Disorder Intensive Outpatient (SUD IOP) Therapist, and as a Family Team Facilitator and Kinship Navigator at the Maryland Department of Health. She was also previously an intern for the Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) program at JFS Delaware!
Barb has two children and is a Gigi to three. In her free time, Barb enjoys yoga, pulling weeds, bike touring, creating art, reading, and volunteering. One fun fact about her is that she leads the First Friday Bike Rides in Newark, Delaware!
The Jewish value that most resonates with Barb is Tikkun Olam (Tee-koon oh-luhm) The collective obligation toward repairing the world—making it right and whole.

Emily is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy for JFS clients. She embraces a holistic approach to therapy, that is collaborative and built on creating a safe and compassionate environment where each unique individual can feel heard, empowered, and not judged. Emily values the belief that everyone comes with their own strengths, which allows them the resilience to walk on a therapeutic path towards healing.
Before coming to JFS, Emily worked as a community hospice social worker, joining patients and families on their journey coping with terminal illnesses and end of life. Through this time, she worked with a range of populations and individual experiences.
Recently married, they are proud dog parents to their energetic pup, Paris.
Emily loves to travel and learn about the world’s rich history and cultures outside of her own. During her undergraduate program, she had the opportunity to study abroad. She studied for four months in Chennai, India at a local college’s social work program. During that time, she also backpacked in Thailand enjoying the amazing food and seeing the breathtaking temples.
Emily enjoys reading, yoga, and crocheting. She loves being creative and appreciates art. She recently inherited her grandmother’s sewing machine, and is looking forward to continuing its use with love.

Laura completed her Master’s of Social Work degree at the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor’s in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland. She also obtained her LMSW in the state of Maryland.
Laura has two cats and enjoys swimming, biking, reading, and volunteering in her free time. A fun fact about her is that she once delivered a baby, and it was terrifying.
