Oncology Clinical Director, Cancer Care Connection
Carol is the Clinical Director and an Oncology Social Worker at Cancer Care Connection, an affiliate of JFS Delaware. Carol is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with twenty years of oncology experience and almost thirty years in the mental health field.
Carol is passionate about helping those affected by cancer achieve their best possible outcome as they navigate the difficult terrain that a diagnosis and treatment may bring. Carol strives to create a warm, non-judgmental therapeutic environment, and provides personalized treatment for each client’s needs. Carol’s style is collaborative, active, and empathic, and she uses evidence-informed approaches and interventions to foster insight, build skills, and promote growth. Carol believes working together to live more fully in the present will relieve suffering and allow each person to enact their own unique positive strengths and abilities to live life authentically.
Carol’s history in corporate business led her to volunteer with Contact Lifeline and transition to social work education. From there, she has worked at Tressler Centers of Delaware and Horizon House, which fortuitously led her to Cancer Care Connection, which includes her work as an affiliate therapist with the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine in West Chester.
Carol received her BSW and MSW from Delaware State University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, travel, cooking and all things beach related. Her work in the oncology field has heightened her desire to live the motto “if not now, when?”
