Julie graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia with a B.S. in Psychology and an M.S.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling from Alfred University. Julie’s passion for domestic violence advocacy began during an internship in graduate school where she worked one-on-one with women and children in a safe house and with offenders, co-facilitating an educational re-entry group. In the last 10 years, Julie has worked as a clinician providing individual counseling to adults, families, and children in a variety of settings. She has experience working with adjustment difficulties that create general anxiety and depression to more intensive care of managing severe mental illness. Most recently she has been providing trauma-centered therapy to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, where she specializes in TF-CBT for children.

Julie has lived in Wilmington, Delaware for over four years, working in Delaware and New Jersey. Julie was born and raised in Virginia but has also lived and worked as a therapist in New York and Texas. Julie spends her free time spending time with her husband, daughter, and two fur children.
