Family Crisis Therapist
Stacy is a school-based Family Crisis Therapist for Jewish Family Services, responsible for the K-5 Early Intervention program at Silver Lake Elementary School. With an MS in Community Counseling, she has spent most of her 6+ years of experience providing therapeutic services and support to children and families in the school and home setting.
Stacy is passionate about strengthening and empowering families by helping them acquire the tools needed to improve their family functioning, build connections with various community-based support systems, and to self-advocate as new challenges and concerns arise. When working with families, Stacy uses a strength-based approach to help students and families with their social, emotional, and mental growth, while striving to improve parenting skills, increasing self-esteem, establishing healthy routines and structure in the home, and reducing stressors on the family system. Stacy believes that in order to support our children, we must engage with, strengthen, and support their families.
In her free time, Stacy enjoys reading, movies, and spending time with her friends and family. She has two young children that keep her very busy. Stacy feels driven to do what she can to ensure her students feel as loved and supported as her own children.
Her favorite quote comes from the great Babe Ruth:
“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”
